About the role
As a Resilience Coach, you won’t just help people solve today’s problem; you’ll walk alongside them as they build a more stable future. You’ll join our brand new Crisis Resilience Team, supporting people across Charnwood, North West Leicestershire and Hinckley and Bosworth. Working with clients over time, you’ll combine practical help with money, debt, benefits and housing with supportive, trauma-informed coaching, building their confidence and skills along the way.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Supporting your own group of clients over time, building trusting, supportive relationships
Working with each client to create a personal plan that sets out their goals and the steps to get there
Making sure clients get all the income they’re entitled to, including checking benefits and helping with claims and appeals
Helping clients with budgeting, managing debt, and building their money skills
Supporting clients to find and keep stable housing
Spotting when a client needs more specialist help and making sure they get to the right person
Reviewing progress with clients and celebrating the steps they take
Keeping clear and accurate records on our case management system
Planning your workload so cases move forward and close in good time
About you:
You believe in what Citizens Advice LeicesterShire stands for and want to help people build better futures
You’re warm, patient and non-judgmental, and a good listener who can pick out what matters most, even when someone is in distress
You communicate clearly, whether face to face, on the phone, online or by email
You’re comfortable with numbers, including percentages, and confident using IT, particularly Google Workspace
You’re organised, can plan your own work and keep good records
You can manage emotionally demanding work and know how to look after your own wellbeing, with support
You’re keen to learn and happy to complete the Certificate in General Advice (full training provided). Experience of advice work, benefits or debt support is a bonus, but not essential
