What it’s like to volunteer with us
When you volunteer with us, you join a team that helps people find a way forward with the problems they face.
Every volunteer gets something different from their experience. That might be building confidence, gaining work experience or meeting new people.

Volunteering gave me the confidence to help people. It feels good helping my own community.
Our volunteers come from all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from:
racially minoritised people and people of colour
disabled people and people with physical or mental health conditions
LGBTQ+ and non-binary people
How volunteering makes a difference
Volunteers help us to help more people and they make a huge difference to the people we support. This is a big part of what they tell us makes the role so rewarding.
In our latest volunteer survey:
9 out of 10 people said they felt a greater sense of fulfilment from helping others
9 out of 10 people would recommend Citizens Advice as a place to volunteer
8 out of 10 people gained transferable skills for their career
2 out of 3 people increased their sense of belonging to their local community
